I joined the Hollywood-based, goth-funk group Desmo Donté early in 1997. At that time the line-up included Riccardo Boccanegra on vocals, Watts Yoshizawa on drums, Killjo on guitar, and myself on bass. The band quickly became my family, in the most sincere sense of that word. We played a handful of shows and then frantically recorded an album (
Divinity, Soul, Ritual) over that summer. Although I moved to New York in the Fall of 1997, I continued to play bass with the group and would frequently fly back to LA for shows or recording opportunities.
